Hey all.. I've been using 3dsmax for aboooout... ten minutes now. I've used Maya for a long time tho. Anyways, I figured the first thing I would do to sorta learn max's interface would be to make a bouncing ball with squash and stretch, ya know, typical beginner stuff.

Anyways, I've got the ball animated and I fixed the tangents in the graph editor, however I'm having trouble keyframing the secondary animation (that being the "stretch" option under modifiers)

Sooo... how do you keyframe a modifier such as stretch?

Any response is apprecaited, have mercy on my newness hehe.

1) Apply your stretch modifier over the sphere primitive.
2) Press the square "Animation" Icon (see at the bottom right) and it should light up "red"
3) Drag your time slider to the desired frame.
4) Input the stretch value.
5) Keep repeat step 3 and 4 if you want more keyframes.
6) If not, click the Animate Icon to turn it off.

You might want to go an extra step...
7) Go into the track view to clean things up (i.e. further refinements).

Hope this is clear enough. I am using 3DS MAX 4 by the way.

Hmm thats exactly what i did... It keyframed the translation for the ball but not the stretch part.. do you have to do them at the same time? I did the movements, keyframed them, then i went back and added stretch. Is that how its supposed to be done?
