I need to do pouring of water into a glass from a brita pitcher and I need to do it in Maya since I can't afford Realflow for my personal use and the ver i have i cant inport and export to/from Maya because its old and i have Maya 4.5. I need the best solution maybe within maya or some RealFlow users that can help me out with exporting stuff from my trial which is disabled.

you cannot do this in maya fluids at this point in time.

I think you can download a free version of realflow for personal use.

Unfortunately my wonderful skool did not get 4.5 unlimited so I don't even have the option of using fluid dynamics to do this. What I am doing is similar to you - pour some water into a glass from a pitcher. I have been learning different ways to create water and I am combining those to fool the eye into seeing water flowing. The biggest thing I have learned is that you need to start thinking not like real world physics - know what Maya is capable of doing/not doing and work around it. I know there are plugins that can do it for you but what happens if you get a job (if you wnat a job) and they wnat you to create a water effect - and they don't have 4.5 unlimited or realflow or whatever?

Truly bizarre to see a post that so closely reflects my current project. Weird.

Good luck (to us both)
