CGTalk - breaking things up

Hi,

we are about to begin work on something similar to the short I made for the getty images comp(see link) except bigger and better!

So im interested in hearing anyones thoughts/tips on methods they undertake to break things apart
Its going to be photo relalistic film res so I'm looking for experienced tips and tricks
using max and vray.

here's where i'd look first for tips on many different techniques.

Pete Draper. Check out his tutorials on dissolving planet, making the sun, his many different environment views, earth from space, etc...

Allan Mckay. Particle master - look through all the tutorials on his site, he has AMAZING way of making particles move in awesome ways!

Tyson Ibele. In his gallery, check out the little house with the car parked in front, and that rock formation near the bottom that's being destroyed using Rivendale's fracture script and Afterburn.
