"COP TECH 2015"

One of my favorite magazines is Popular Science.
I love how their positive spin for their visions of the future.

So for a few days I want to experiment doing magazine covers.
The idea is that you have been commisioned to do a cover for one of their articles.

Here is your research. The plane you draw has to be based on thier idea, but you can get very creative in terms of the track and plane decorations.

COP TECH 2010 (Article photos on both site)

Keep in mind, these plane will have corporate sponsors, so the planes will be VERY colorfull and full of ads.

SCIENCE NEWS COVER TEMPLATES:

[url="http://www.savefile.com/files/425352"]MEDIUM (http://www.popsci.com/popsci/aviationspace/48c606f7578b6010vgnvcm1000004eecbccdrcrd.html) (.5 M)

BIG (http://www.savefile.com/files/425345) (2M)

You can change the layer for the article title and the wording for it, but the cover concept cannot change.
The templates are in psd format. If anyone needs it converted, please ask.

lol , I am not sure either but I am guessing you are supposed to use the template, design a cop plane for the year 2015, (high tech of course)...I am not sure what Roberto means using their design for the plane, the only plane I saw on that site was a little drone. Add a bunch of corporate sponsors to your plane like a nascar has and pop your sketch into the template to make the illustration along with the template into a *drum roll magazine cover

Im very lost .. I will replace this image with the sketch when I figure out.
PS. Pop scince is a cool mag.

A quote from that web article.

Heal wants a surveillance craft that gives on-the-ground officers portable airborne awareness of their environment. His primary request: Make it small. “First I measured the trunk of a patrol car,” says Sam de la Torre, the drone’s designer and a former prop developer for motion pictures. “It also needs to be light, so it won’t kill someone if it crashes over a populated area.” The SkySeer, as the drone is called, weighs just four pounds (in the event of an engine failure, it glides to earth) and stows away in a four-foot-long carrying case. A single officer can unpack and deploy it within minutes.

It’s also incredibly easy to fly, another of Heal’s requests. Using a “ground station” the size of a briefcase, the operator selects a destination on a digital map and throws the drone into the air like a paper airplane. Guided by GPS, the drone circles quietly above its target, relaying digital video footage to the ground station in real time. When the batteries fade after about an hour, the drone automatically glides back to the operator. Heal anticipates that the SkySeer will become a routine part of the LASD’s work as soon as this year, pending approval by the Federal Aviation Administration.

is this what you mean>>?

I everyone - it's good to be back to the dsg.

This topic looks similar to one that was done last year sometime. I could be wrong but I think Robertto was too fast with the cut and past to revise the instructions.( I am sure he has a life besides modding for the DSG.. though I can't imaging anything that could be more fullfilling.)

Anywho... I think we are just supposed to take the Topic and create a magazine cover based on some concept of that. In the PopSci link there were all sorts of future weapons and devices for law enforcement. Design your own and make a cover for it.

I thought it would be awesome if at somepoint the government created a new bio-drug, mixed with nano-bots that was injected into the body. The serume was a cocktail like mix of steriods, adrenaline and "natrual" ingredients. Once injected the body reaches a "super awarness and pushes itself beyond normal strength and speed. (think hulk like rage mixed with cat like reflexes and einstien like insight.) The effects are intense but last only briefly since the body is being pushed far beyond natrual limits. The nano bots are injected in the system at the same time to minimize the damage and aid the body in speddy repair.

The rush is so strong that months after it is released to law enforcement it is banned because of abuse.

Please forgive me for not sticking to the template - I was not online until just before I posted... long enough to get the barcode in.

I had fun with this one - all in all about 3 hours in illustrator and photoshop.
