View Full Version : Merging polys in the same place
E.Z. Schwartz 02-21-2003, 01:56 AM How can you merge or get rid of polygons that share the exact same points? Like if you have a cube, and in the top view, select each corner and weld. Then you have what looks like 1 polygon but is really 8. How do you make it so there is only 1? Is there a plugin to do this or any other way? Thanks a lot!

A cube can only have 6 sides not 8 :-)
Merge and Unify and even Merge again won't solve the problem.
You need to Unify and then bring up the Poly stats panel, then select and delete all the 2 pointers.

That was just bad math on my part. :) Unify did exactly what I wanted. Thanks guys! I should have asked here before spending 1 1/2 hours looking for a plugin on flay.
