tigrine_smiltpe 02-21-2003, 12:27 AM Hi,
i want to create a road like in picture on the right. how should i do it? if i apply a black&white bitmap, it becomes distorted.
is there any way to do it without bitmaps?

this is the picture:
if you create the road mesh from a lofted spline then the uvw's will flow along the road nicely, then apply your bitmap and tile it. you could also use nurbs, or path deform a plane etc etc.
hope that's some help.

You want to "project" a curve onto your grass surface. NURBS is the way to go to get a nice projected curve. Plus it will give you a great mapping coord sys even after you convert it to geometry (if you need too)
I'll go into more detail if you need it. Modeling roads is something I do on a regular basis.
