Hi guys!... i know this has been up a while ago... but i dont think i got any good answers on it then!..

I making a space scene for a short movie.. with a earth and a space station!.. and for this i need a earth with the biggest texture map i can get... but i know from a test i did earlier that there was some problems using the biggest earthmaps.. any solutions to this!..

Any good links to some BIG earthmaps!?.. and cloudmaps!?..

the camera is going to be in sattelite altitude so i need som really Hires maps.. its going to be rendered in 1920 x 1080 for Film!..

By rule of thumb, your earth texture resolution doesn't need to belarger than the render.


Here's a cool shot of the earth at night my buddy sent me, maybe you could use it.

Found out about the problem i had before..

if i turn OpenGL textures OFF... then i can use the 10K earthmap!..
But with the OpenGL textures ON Lightwave crashes every time i try to load the texture..

could this be a memory problem?? or is it strictly video ram??
