Hi everyone,

I haven't posted anything for quite a long time because my real work and family commitments come first. One of my New Year Resolutions is to be more prolific and to improve my painting skills. This is a piece I have been working on for about a week and I have reached a point where I am not enjoying it any more and had decided to leave it unfinished and move on to something new. Then I thought it would be a good idea to post it here and try to get some advice on how I can improve it in any way. Any input would be much appreciated.

hi there
Harvey here :)
ok about your piece... yeah i understand ou situation man sometimes that happens to me,well to all of us artist i belive.
now about the art, the tree you can move it to the left and make it more stronger looking i mean more bulky, - for it to have a dynamic feel about it it will serv as a cover for it, it will help to contour the viewers eye
and you can adjust the temperature for more moody look of it
and about that naked gurl there? you can make her an inca or mayan tribe dwelling person and above the falls you can put a mayan temple there :) anyway around this is only my sudgestions for the piece to be more exiting :)

I agree with the comment about the tree. I also would suggest perhaps putting less white in the air so the rocks and waterfall really "pop". The bottom of the painting looks great, although it seems dark considering theres not much shade coming from such a small tree. You might also want to work on the anatomy and lightingof the nude woman...there is such a hard shadow coming from...nowhere.

I'm really liking this piece a lot so far. Can we see some updates and closeups?

Thanks alot for the advice guys. When I can actually stand to look at this piece again I will definitely take your advice. I think that I will learn from this piece and move on to the next one for the time being. I want to come back to it with fresh eyes, if you know what I mean.
Cheers
