i am trying to make a shader that will stroke a sphere so that even if it is rotating you will only see a stoke around the outside

i tried using a ramp shader w/ facing ratio on the color going inot my other shaders transperancy

but there is still shading on the center of the ramp so i am not getting a hard line

i also tryie using a samper info node and then cranking its contrast and putting that into the transperancy but i coulnd't figure it out

thanx

If it's just going to be a sphere, a much easier way to do this would be to create a second sphere in the same position as the first and scale it up slightly to create the width of the outline. Then invert the sphere's normals, turn off "double sided" in rendering options under the attribute editor and apply a constant shader to it.
