Hi, simple question really. My modelling and texturing skills are good enough for what I use them for.
My rendering skills are not upto par and was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction?

I uploaded a simple scene for Maya 7 that I would like to light/render in a realistic way but it is not happening. http://dodownload.filefront.com/6528701//%2085518c1deffbc4f62942a7d5421f146f8d441688a3c029a847a78dbbf22e253ea338b41f03ef7767

Basically I want to learn how to render realistic interior rooms. Just imagine something simple like a bay window and the sun shining through.
You would think it would be fairly simple, but I seem to be going around in circles as I have no found one tutorial on the net which offers readers how to light/render something which resembles something you can look at and go wow. It's always just so so.

I know once I nail it once I will be able to take those principles and apply it to the rest of my stuff.

Can someone here take a look at the scene I posted and maybe just do something with it and post it for others to see?
I did look at the light challenges, but I'm after an in depth guide so I jcan just understand the best/quickest way to do this and get on with it.

If anyone can help or point me to some idiot guide tutorials (which is what I think I need!) I would be grateful and I'll be happy to help out on the animation forums or something as that is my real area.

Thanks :(

Martin
