Lightwave Discovery Edition.
It's on the cover of one of the European CG magazines this month.
Or you can order from Newtek.

Word seems to be that it will be up on the site "soon." Last message here indicated it may be as early as next week.

Hey Proton :) I'm really interested in a Lw demo, i collected the PLEs of Maya and XSI, i'm a C4D user and i'm really involved into the evolutive process of C4D. Right now i'm compiling a list for Maxon as a suggestion form by cgtalk C4D users, something similar to the list you Lw users wrote for NT. We're in the middle of a discussion about a possible new gizmo (or manipulator, or pivot, call it whatever you prefer). Many users want a Maya like gizmo, many others a Messiah inspired gizmo, many others don't want a gizmo at all, like in Wings or Mirai. So i'm collecting all the possible demos to see what an ideal way could be. I talked a lot with Leigh about it and she really likes the Lightwave way so I got curious and i wanted to try it. I'm a bit disappointed cause i didn't find an online demo release on NT website, i hope they upload a trial version soon. :wavey:

Thank you very much William
If you can get access to the regular version and install it, it will run in demo mode if there is no dongle attached.
Later,

I wouldn't suggest to do it...but nothing is stopping you....it wasn't designed to work that way but it does
