Man, i really wanted to wait till this was finished before I showed any of it, but I can't hold out that long, so here is the Ferrari Enzo I have been working on. I posted the wheel awhile back but only got a couple replies.

Anyway, I still need to make the dashboard, interior panelling, gauges and readout thingies, and the entire engine, but here is what I have. I have made the steering wheel since this tho:

PLEASE REPLY, I wanna know what people think.

The whole car should be done in a couple weeks.

Drew

OH, btw: The rims will NOT be black in the final, they will be silver;and yes, I KNOW the real disc brakes are grey, not gold; and I also know that the hub of my disc brake is intersecting the center of my wheel, I just have not had time to move it yet.

Fantastic modeling, make the car red and improve your lighting setup, it's your weakest point now.

Woah, fast replies. I'll see what else I can dig up, and I'll try to make some new renders and a wire by tomorrow (maybe today, hehe).

looks good to me!

can we see one w/ some better/brighter lighting? this one is pretty dark.

also, for another image, don't tilt the camera so much! it hurts my neck! i like the idea, but when i'm just trying to look at it.. ouch!

the only real critque that i have is the texture on the seat - they look awfully plastic.. but still cool!

Really nice work there, I don't know? The black paint looks pretty cool, especially in the first render. What prog are you using?

Although I'm not a Ferrari fan and don't actually like the Ferrari Enzo, I must say your model looks AWSOME!

It's a little bit hard to see the real shape of the car when it's black though.

The wire frame looks excelent, although having two edges connected to a vertex on the wheel arc is something one probably don't want. Actually it's 5 edges, but I meen 2 edges from the body side. (Hard to explain but I don't have photoshop here to show you what I meen) It's not so easy to spot the problem on your model after it's been subdevided though, but it is there if you look closely. If you use box modeling and subd. you could maybe just hide one of the edges that is connected to that vertex. Or you could just extrude the outor polys inside the wheelarc. That way you could also easily control how sharp you want the edge to be!

How did you model it and how long have you been working on it?
Any reason why you picked the Ferrari Enzo?
Are you gonna use it in any way?

Anyways. Great model.
Looking forward to new renders and updates!

looks great!, did you start with one poly, and extrude from there, or start from a box?

The seams (can only see them in the first picture) for the hood (and all the other seams I assume) look very fake. It looks as if you just extruded inward, but never deleted the inner crack.

The bottom left of the door by the seam, the mesh seems to go inward a bit before the seam, same thing with the bottom part of the seam where the fender meets the front ground FX (air dam or what ever you call it).

The rear view mirror is sticking out of the windowshield

Not sure if anyone else called on these crits, cuz I dont' have time ot read all the replys.

Good luck with it! Fixing those seams will make the car tons better! (the rest looks real good).

digitalp1mp
02-21-2003, 07:24 PM
its not sticking through i assume its just the way it looks on all cars...dark black where its stuck to the window...thats how i notice it on all cars

FrageNSTEIN
02-21-2003, 09:52 PM
Yeah, I just checked the mesh, it actually rests with a slight GAP before the window; doesn't touch at all.

Drew
BTW: For some reason my webspace seems to be down at the moment.. I am guessing I hit a bandwidth limit or somethin.. so unless I can find some place to upload my pics with more bandwidth, I prolly won't be able to put up anything for a little while. Sorry

FrageNSTEIN
02-23-2003, 09:44 PM
Alright, my pics are back, who knows y! I thought I hit my bandwidth limit or somethin, but I guess not, but I'll use attachments from here on, just in case.

Edit: FORGET that, 20k max! HAHA, ok, we'll just upload to my space and hope it stays.

Here is RED, as requested. A quick render, but it shows more.

Really better in red, pay more attention to headlights ;)

FrageNSTEIN

In the last pic? Cuz you aren't supposed to see the lights from above, not with the structure of the enzo... but maybe you could be more specific?

They seem perfectly transparent in the real car to me... http://www.maranello.ch/images/F60_Enzo-Ferrari.jpg

wow, very nice model ;)

just one thing though, is it just me or is there no steering wheel column?? i can't seem to see it in your last pic..

looks like your steering wheel is floating in the air :D

FrageNSTEIN
02-24-2003, 12:14 AM
Haha yeah man, I have only done a small amount of the interior, that all is still left to do. I have to do the column, the rest of the dash, the controls and meters, the interior panelling, and then i have to model the engine for the back window.

Edit.... Thirdeye: they are transparent.. but... from above you can't see lenses or anything, just the encasement or whatever.

Looks like great model man. I really like your model and RED one looks better than first grey/black version (wich color that supposed to be :)?)

Ferraris just need RED or Yellow color to look good :). Maybe even silver but not for all models.

I don't like car very much (For me still best looking Ferrari's are F40/50) but you modeled it excellent.

Just work on materials and lighting and it will be great adition to your portfolio.

For crits only what's already sayd (seams ar ejust inseted and not actual semas and few minor things ).

Kep us updated regulary ;).

I like the red car paint, but I think that the grainy look doesnt suit a fresh ass ferrari, that is "brand new" .....maybe, its cause the grain shows up on the glass, and also, on the interior, where it lacks detail, it really adds grain on the inside of the car.... so I think add more detail to the interior, or get rid of the grain..... and still add more detail to the interior.

....heh heh heh :applause:

FrageNSTEIN
02-25-2003, 07:26 AM
By "grain" to do you just mean my choppy sampling? That will not be in the final, don't worry.

Thanks everyone for your comments, I was working on the interior again today, and soon, when I have more, I will show a more developed model.

See you soon, same bat time, same bat channel.
