View Full Version : Orientation for spline clusters

I'm trying to setup a rig for an octopus and i've created splines and clusters for the tentacles. My problem is occurs when I translate the clusters. I want to translate and scale in the x-axis, but I can't get the orientation right. When I set up my joints I went to component mode and made sure my joints were oriented the way I wanted them. What is causing all my tentacle clusters to move in the same direction? I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

you will want your x-axis going down the bones, but you want to make sure that your last joint is oriented to world space, that's always a common problem with them not working. i like to use a simple mel button to orient them in component mode, like "rotate -r -os 180 0 0;"
