If anyone can reccomend me some free Renderring Plug-ins or scripts for 3D studio max 4, i downloaded a few plugs but none really do much, i want results that you get from Lightscape or Brazil, but without all the exporting and so on....
I also tried installing Brazil r/s plug-in, but i don't think i got it working. Please help with ideas!:scream:

Thanks,
igie

As far as I know there shouldn't be any problems getting Brazil to work. Did you d/l any of the release notes that are available for d/l from the Splutterfish site. Whilst not all encompassing they should certainly be enough to get you up and running. :)

I did download the readme file, or the instructions to installing Brazil, but i wasn't to sure of how to do everything the instructions stated, but its all ok, i'll figure something out with the Brazil plug.

Thanks!:p

It's really really easy to get up and running. If you're still having problems I'll be glad to help.

Brazil Renderer----Read the installation instructions carefully and try again, it's worth it. You also could try Vray, another free trial renderer. You could also use the standard scanline render with HDRDomelight, or Trinsica's Area Light script, a quicker, decent quality alternative if GI is what you are trying to get out of these renderers. These produce good results in a fraction of the time, but they are not a substitute for these other renderers. If it's caustics, SSS, or something else you're trying to achieve you'll need 1 of those fantastic add ons.:)

ya, I'd definetly agree with using the HDR script for a simple lighting setup cause the script produces damn good results with no speed problems. It's not going to replace a GI renderer per se, but with some creative lighting, you could fake it to the point where most people won't even know. For doing nice reflections, caustics, and things of those nature, you should look into dropping some money on a plugin renderer like Brazil or Final Render.

remember that you have to choose brazil in current renderers and that brazil only works in perspective and camera view .

¿ what is exactly the problem you have?

You can probe vray free version plugin is great and speedy.

Thats great, lots of help from all of you.
My problem with Brazil is, i guess i didn't install it correctly, cuz i can't select brazil in my current renderers...i'll just try reinstalling it.
I still have to check out all those links you guys gave me, looking forward to that. for now, i'm off to school!:p
