I use 16 maps of 2048 for the textures. The Head has Color, Specular, Normal, Reflect and SSS map, also 5 maps for the Body, for the Components I use Color, Specular and Normal map like for the Sword and Helmet these are all in one texture.
To modeling it I use 3ds Max (Hi-Res and Low-res), and for the Normals and Oclucsion Maps I use Softimage XSI, for texturing, I use Photoshop, and Deep Paint 3D only to make the projections. For the render and shaders I use vray.
Shortly history of this character.
I started this model in Hi-Res only for training, and one good friend says to me that he will want to animate it, but the problem is that the model is impossible to work with in our machines and I made a low/medium-res so he can animate it. I made the normals maps... and to finished I thought i would texture it and... this is the result... when I finished the hi-res model I said that I couldnt texture it... but finally..., sorry to the people that asked me if I will make the textures and I said no.
I had very fun making this as an excersize, I have learned (this is the first character that I finished).
I want thank these people specialy for helping me:
Herbert Lowis, I think that he is a great modeller and allow to me use its Orc Character like a reference to this character, I hope some day I arrive to its level, many thanks.
To Joan Marc, for made the rigging set-up and for the more important, for encouraging me. Eres lo mas majo que hay!! muchas gracias tio. I hope that you can animate it some day.
and Miguel (I call Mike Mahanajam :D) for making the concept of the Sword and the Shield for me, thanks.
I hope i didnt forget anything... and I hope you will like it.
