Hi,
this may be more of a technical problem but as a novice PC user I need some advice.
When I toggle full-screen in XSI, I often get one side (usually to my right) of the XSI screen as a large black area. It doesn't happen all the time and file size doesn't seem to be important. Once or twice, I've even seen the screen redraw and the large black area has gone and I can then work full-screen.

I was told something about "service-packs" but am not sure. I'm on a Win2000 corporate machine, 512mb RAM if that helps. It happens with AnimationMaster also but not Cinema4D - and none of my 2D applications are affected.
It's probably the Matrox card I was issued but are there any workarounds like screen resolution to try?

It is your video card. Unfortunately it is not on the XSI Certification list (http://www.softimage.com/partners/xsi/Hardware_Partners/Hardware_Cert/graphicscards.htm). As a result, strange things can happen.

You could try playing with the options under File -> User Prefs -> Display - > Display Performance... maybe it'l help. The best thing would be to get a different card of course. Even a lowly GeForce works fine with XSI, even if it's not certified.
