Random Sime 01-15-2007, 05:57 AM I created a SSS shader test in a file and applied it to geometry and lit it with a 3 point light setup. I achieved the look I wanted and exported the shader network, but when I imported the network into a new scene and tried it rendering it on geometry in that scene, it didn't work at all.
I tried re-doing the lightmap but that didn't change a thing.
What's going on?

Yes it's a bit sucktacular. I've experienced this too.
I don't remember exactly what I did to repair it, but I'm assuming it's a light linking issue. You may need to specifically link your lights to include that object. Or perhaps even link the lights into the shader.
:shrug:
check the connections of the lightmap.... (connection to the shader and the shading group...)
this went bad at my place while doing the import export voodoo...
