View Full Version : controling Maya fluid Fire height?
hoisty 01-15-2007, 02:16 AM Hello, could I get some advice?
Can't figure out for the life of me how to control the height of my flame (fluid).
when I scale the fluid container down (in Y) the flames appear cutoff
Here's my most recent render:

It looks like it could also be your Fluid Falloff settings. A quick check would be to set the fluid container to not falloff in Y and do a render.

... and, if You want Your simulation look natural, keep voxels uniform (cubic). You don't want to do non-uniform scale, or set size/divisions to such number so voxels are not cubes.

Like was said before , your hitting the falloff on your container. Under Shading , you will have an Edge drop off slider, move that around to see what we mean about container falloff. As well, you should turn up your sim. rate scale, your fire is moving very slowly if your reference is real fire.
