Title: Resting My Bones
Name: Sharon Weinberg
Country: Ireland
Software: Maya

A 3D model of a skeleton using procedural texturing - for a character in a short film. I put the skeleton in this position to give it character and personality, and a mood about it. All characters in this film wear masks suited to their particular mental illnesses - the film is about mental illness and portrays the characters physically by how they are mentally.

It is nice that you are presenting such a work here. I am curious about the short, but speaking about this still - I would like to give you few suggs. This image is empty and probably very easy to develop for some folks around here, but I want you to keep it in this clear version. What could be my suggestion - change the camera angle, so you will not have bones and positions in this hard to read view. Move the camera a bit higher, so you will see how bottom arm and leg are lying. And definitely lights. You need more lights and shadows to give the bones volume. IŽd say focus the white light on the skull and mask and maybe bottom blueish for the rest of the skeleton. Just my quick 2 cents. Keep progressing

Thanks for your suggestions, I will definitely use them. The short film will soon (not yet, but soon) be available for viewing from my website (www.dimensionalcanvas.co.uk (http://www.dimensionalcanvas.co.uk)) - just gotta upload it first as have been having trouble with getting it online, but I'll keep trying.

As for this still, I definitely like your suggestions. Why though do you suggest blue light in particular? It does sound good but I'm just wondering why blue, and why a different colour to the light shining on the head and mask?

Thank you again for the suggestions, I will definitely put them to use as soon as I get a chance. :)
