View Full Version : Per Particle Rotation

I was if anyone could help with this. I waterfall of choc chips. The chips will be instanced. I would like to make the chips rotate randomly. I could animate different instances but I feel that this still look too stiff. I know that there is way to script the instance to do this?!
As a seperate issue to this I have to make a water surface covered in choc chips. So I would need a way to attach the chip models to the surface and then animate the surface with the chips following the deformations of the surface.
RLook forward to hearing from anyone with ideas

HERE (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=49146) is a thread where the per particle rotation on instanced particles is explained.

For the surface of water, I would use the same instanced particle method you are using for the waterfall, and set that up to work with Effects > Surface Flow (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=7&t=184097&highlight=surface+flow).

Sorry for my late reply. Thanks alot Floyd. Been very busy here so I have not had the chance to get it done but it looks like it will all work. Will let you know how it goes.
