OK thought i'd quickly upload this while I remember, this new plugin just selects the surrounding planar polys of your selection. In other words you select a poly, use the plugin and it selects the plane that the poly is on.

Tolerance is based on the selection itself, so if you just select one poly, then it will only select surrounding polys that are absolutely parallel to that poly. If you select more poly's that aren't absolutely parallel, it will use the difference between the polys to determine the tolerance, in each axis seperately. Sometimes as a result you may need to run the plugin a couple of times to get the full plane if it's particually crumpled. See documentation for examples.

The plugin is available from the renderzone section of my website, go to the library area to download.

I hope some of you may find this useful.

Enjoy :)

Brilliant! I needed exactly this last night - a great tool. (I was expecting it to be built in actually).

I like free stuff like this, it's cool, I just wish I could provide something in return.

If anyone wants my alarm clock program to remind you to get your lunch out of the oven, just let me know :D

hi Stu, i've not tested it with v7, but give it a shot, i see no reason why it wouldn't.

the only one that i know for sure doesn't like v7 is camera gaffer (or at least it didin't like my v7, perhaps other people have differen't experiences).
