View Full Version : Messed up the default lighting! Ack!
gnarlycranium 02-20-2003, 04:18 AM Gargh... I use MAX for 2 years and somehow manage to accidentally mess something up that I didn't even KNOW could be messed up. Somehow, I have NO clue how... I've managed to kill the default lighting in MAX-- you know, the kind that seems to have a few omni lights just kinda floating in nowhere, fixed to the view? Now I have stationary 2-point lighting instead. If I wanted 2-point lighting, I'd put it in myself-- I can't see a darn thing with everything so shadowed on one side, and I can't model like this. Anybody have any idea what I did wrong, and how I can change it back?
This is in 4.2, btw

Customize > Viewport Configuration > Rendering Method > Rendering Options > Default Lighting > 1 light / 2 lights? That seems to be the case in max 5.1 anyway.

Waiiiiitaminute...... D'OH! You're right! I thought that toggle was only for overriding the lights in a scene... I never noticed that 1 light is the original setup I was missing. Bah! I'm an idiot!! Fixed now-- thanks! :D
