Very very nice work! I love the
way you lit the scene with only
one light! Looks very realiestic.
Good materials and reflections.
Thumbs up

Beautiful work - subtle textures and delicate lighting. Any insights on how you achieved that amazing photoreal velvet texture?

You put great craftsmanship into this ring.
If I had seen this image into another situation I would easily said it`s a photo.
Great textures, great lighting. Great job.

wow, lots of replies!
thanks a lot!
I used FPrime, therefore I wasn't able to use the LW9 Nodal system.
So they surfaces are all lambertian.
No UVs where used, I used only gradients, and a bump map for the velvet.
Here is a screen-shot of the scene being rendered at fprime (after 1 min or so).

The diamond is brilliant of course, but the stand looks incredible too.

Thanks!
Here is another fprime render, thats about 3 mins after rendering.
I used this view to tweak the diamond and velvet
Its easier to tweak when you see the diamond face and not the side.
The floor is also some kind of thin white velvet.
So it softens a bit the shadows, and reflects a bit the colors around it.
Its not noticeable in this project, but I'll perhaps make it more evident in another project.
