no one outside of the contest stepped up to judge, so here i go...
Klash120 - third place - very nice creature and concept. model so far looks clean and i wish i could see this thing textured and moving. its a unique model and i would follow up on it and finish it. looks to damn cool not to.
Kilst4r & Mr Eric - second place - clean model, very nice textures, nice use of bump/normal, and and cool looking character. i like the teeth/mouth area and the huge horns coming out of his body. while its a great character, i don't see how someone can climb on him and kill him. the aim of the challenge was to make a "moving level" that's also a character that would fit into a game that was like Shadow of the Colossus. I know you had tentacles planned for his movement, it still didn't seem like he was made to climb up on and kill.
warby - first place - what can i say, this model looks like it's directly from the game. not only that, it looks to be one of the better level in SotC. nice style, great textures, and bonus points for turntable and animating the character. the "in-game" shots sells it. the only thing against it is i wished i could see the same model but done in a different style/game. yes, there were no rules saying you couldn't make it look like it's from SotC, but i was looking forward to see what direction people were going to take their colossus. awesome stuff and your portfolio is top notch.
if anyone else wants to leave critiques/comments now, please go ahead. warby, please PM me with what you would like to see in the next challenge. the rules and the whole UGAC process is changing and i will try to make your idea fit in with it.
thanks to all who participated.
