View Full Version : Flame going from narrow to wide

Hi guys,

I'm curious if there is a way to make a quick burst of fire start off fairly small, but then get much wider? I was thinking diffusion would allow the fire to spread, but it seems to just lose the overall look of the flame. I wasn't sure if there was a way to achieve this (probably missing something, but I'm still looking).

Thanks for any tips

Try using fuel and animating your sim rate scale to control how fast your flame grows. :)

Ah, thank you. I had tried Sim Rate scale (guess I didn't try enough variation), but I'll experiment with fuel.

Thank you for the advice!

Turn up your swirl too, if you haven't already , to get some nice rolling effects instead of your fluid just spreading out in all directions.
