Hi Sarah,
I assume you're in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and not Calgary, Scotland, right?
If so, read on...
If I remember correctly there was an up-and-coming console game developer in Calgary AB that was doing work for PS/PS2 and Nintendo. You may want to do research to see if they're still around.
There's also Bioware in Edmonton, EA Sports and Sir Tech in Vancouver that you may want to send demo reels to.
I believe there's a few gaming companies in Toronto and of course there's Ubisoft in Montreal.
Another good source of info if you're not already aware is the forums at www.gamasutra.com
Hopefully this helps a fellow Canuck! (If you are one) ;)

Hi Sarah,
Just a little bit of advice. You need to have a web presence so that potential employers have immediate access to your portfolio/demo and resume. Most will not email you to request one. There are hundreds of recent graduates with the same skillset as you, what's going to seperate you from the rest is the quality of your work.
One webhost that is very affordable is www.doteasy.com. For only $25 a year you can register your own domain name and get 20megs of storage. If nothing else host a few still images somewhere on the web and link to them.
