Hi i have a character that i have fully rigged in 10 with the new joints and skinning with all the wieghting done and it works fine the problem i am haveing is i have loaded into a scene and it needs to be rescaled to fit in with the other models if i try to rescale it model and bones when you then move the rig after scaleing the models mesh just becomes destorted is there any way to scale up a model after bind as been used to fix the bones to the mesh hope thier is or every time you need to rescale a model you will have to do all that wieghting again cheers.

You can set the Skin tag to 'Deformer' and then scale the mesh. Might make for an interesting animation experience but it should work if all else fails.

Good luck

It depends on how you've made your rig and how you've scaled it, but you should be able to simply use the SET POSE command in the weight tag. that sets the models new state 9being smaller) to the joints

Sorry neither of those two ideal work with out distortion.

What sort of deformation are you getting? Both should result in a scaled character without any additional deformation.

The former only the mesh itself is scaled (remember to scale with the object tool not the model tool), in the later the rig is scaled, in this case you have to remember to set to rest before scaling and then turn off deformation and expressions before doing the scale.

if the character isn't animated then model tool should work fine, works just fine on my rigs. and its more ideal as your not adding irregular scale values to your objects.

If you rig is still distorting then its something in how you've set up your rig.

Yes if it's animated then you'll have to turn on the animation tool (still there but hidden in the menu) and scale all the paths with the object (not an easy task unless you work numerically, but at least the animation tool can be one of cinemas little gems sometimes).

Hi i finaly got my character to scale up with out deforming i started with the model in a default pose turned off the Edit Use Deformers then selected both the model and rig together and then scaled them both up together while Use Deformers was still turner off i then clicked on Wieght Expressions Set Pose then went back and turned Use Deformers back on this work like a charm thank you for your help it set me off looking for the way to do it cheers.
