View Full Version : Mograph Tracer and net render
gordons 01-10-2007, 07:52 PM I tried using net render on a scene with tracer and none of the lines were rendered (they show up if I use the main system only but not if I net render). Do I need to bake before using net render and if so how? I have tried the cache tag but it doesn't seem to work. The manual does not include tracer in the list of mograph effects you can bake.

It depends what you're tracing. The tracer will try to preroll the scene for NET Render up to the current frame, however it's dependent on a couple of things, firstly the tracer has to be below the objects it's tracing in the hierarchy (by that I don't mean as a child, just lower down in the OM), secondly some objects/effects that you put into the tracer wont work unless they're baked, in those cases it tends to be a limitation.

It's just a simple cube with a sweep nurb/tracer, and the tracer object is at the bottom of the list:
