Im trying to work out some "fake" cloth by doing a poly surface that hangs on the character and convert it to subd but, as it says in the convert window (no history)
So, is there a clever way to get the resulting subd to "hang on" my character / the original poly surface when he´s moving away? I tryed connection editor but thats like a jungle to me or is there another way to take?
For all of you that says, syflex I say, yes please but thats not a option to day =)=)
thx

why to subd ???? model it as nurbs and convert it to poly, then use the poly to drive the subd

or use the same method on poly/subd

if you are useing maya 4.5 they added a little option in the convert menu to make a proxy object..... modify>convert>polys to subdivs options.... then you want to have keep original checked and "proxy mode" also checked.... what this does is leaves you with a poly that has the same history and a subd beeing driven by the poly... hope that helps... ;)
