I have an outdoor scene that is 5.4 million polygons (4.7m are are trees and plants that have GI s&r off.) The scene gets to the 99.9% point in about 20min (part before FG.) But then it sits indefinetly on a small square of about 16x16 pixels. I have merge nearby photons on.
I have Dual Opteron 270 (4 cores) 4gb of ram xp64 Max 9 64bit.
I noticed if I set the FG to 2x multiplier the scene continues on and renders in about 25min total. Also, if I hide the the plants and trees it renders in about 15min. If the almost 5m polygons are told not to be part of the MR solution why do they seem to kill the render? Do I have to turn other settings off?
Any ideas?
