View Full Version : Brazil r/s: GI messing up DOF?
When I make a scene using Brazil and max5 and normal lighting, the DOF settings I use works fine, but If I light the same scene using GI, the DOF makes the scene really grainy and stuff? Does anyone else get this? what should I do?
-Thanks!! :)

Heya,
When you enable Depth-of-Field, it has to calculate the GI for every DoF sample.
The only way to get this to be smooth (besides undersampling the image samples, where possible), is to get the basic GI solution itself to be clean.
- Disable DoF
- Switch the GI into "Locked to Image Rate" mode
:_rinse_lather_repeat
- Render
- Adjust View/Sec rates to get rid of noise
- goto _rinse_lather_repeat
Then when it's clean - enable DoF, and you should be set.
