View Full Version : HARDWIRED WIP, 4 legged cycle

Hello everybody, I am opening this thread to get some feedback in a cycle I am preparing for the proyect "HARDWIRED" (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=129379&page=1&pp=15)
( a movie proyect that is being developed in the collaborative forum.)
this is the character, modeled, textured, cleverly rigged and rendered by Omar
As I said in the proyect thread, I am going to do a walk cycle with Keith Langoīs method:
first animate feet and hip, once I am happy with it,
add upper body and arms,
then offsets and drags.
If you dont get it, watch it and you will see its a smart workflow.

The legs are looking good so far. You're starting to get a good sense of weight with them.
One thing that bugs me is how the front legs rotate backwards (or out, however you want to think of it) before they're picked up. It maybe just be a matter of taste and it may help to lengthen the stride but that part feels a little akward right now.

coordinate all those legs and arms is taking a lot of work!!
New update, most of the work is done, I have to take care of little mesh intersection between hands and legs, and some drag in the fingers and hads will be added later.

Finally done, if Omar has nothing to say.
We cheered him up a bit, because he looked sad and fixed a thing with his fron left leg.

coming along really nice,
like delu said tough, the rotating of the feet looks a lil strange, also he weights over to his right side, dont know if thats intended

Yea about the rotating of the feet , it has allot to do with the IK setup.
But when I look at the file from the top view I can tell that the legs can be straightened a bit more. The top view tells it all as far as the legs go. but good job none the less.
Okay, I did a quick render... I made a looped backdrop.
His feet slide a bit but that may be because the backdrop loops
at a little bit different speed, plus it was not animated with the backdrop.
Also the media player may drag a bit but it loops smoother
in my ram player or after effects.
Juan let me know if you want it with or without the backdrop.
And if you want it in any type of file format.
The render is not meant for the movie just for demo purposes.
Anyway, good enough :P
