Hi guys
i would like to render hair beauty pass (all whistles and bells) and its alpha chanel.
what shader should I use for the "shadow" sampling surface? that one shouldnt be visible in alpha (only the catched shadows). like a black hole but leave the shadows...
I tried puppets shader for the shadow catcher surface. unfortunaltely I didnt manage to exclude it from the alpha... unchecking the self-shadowing didn work (for some reason i simply dont know...). it catched the hair shadows (superb) of the hair but all other things like nose, ears etc shadows too... thats somehow logical...
but shouldnt turning selfshadowing off eliminate all other shadows and leave only the hair shadows?

btw. my system: maya 8, mr 3.5..., shave and haircut.
