hyperuse 01-08-2007, 08:20 PM Hey Guys,
I am modeling a basketball standard rim, with a net. But was wondering if there are an present solutions, theorys for rigging the net up so it... well reacts like a net And or can be animated to act like a net?
Any links appreciate, and thanks in advance.

I would use cloth and make it shaped like a basket, then have it react to the ball. Save out the keys and then construct a net and use skin wrap to make it follow the cloth object. Then hide the cloth object and render.

I've tried to animate a basketball net also sometime but didn't come up with such a brilliant idea! hmm..Maybe I'll try to do it again some day.

Heya,
I just wanted to shoot an update here. Thank you for the suggestion, that worked like a charm. Some great results, and the net is looking great!
Cheers,

Cool. I'ld like to see how it turns out when you're done.
