I dont know any helmet specific modeling tutorials but the first thing I would be looking at is how to divide the helment into pieces that I need to build, as in, the visor, the actual helm, the padding the strap etc etc etc. Once I have figure out what pieces I want to model I would start by building the actual helm (a relatively simple shap personally I'd use box modeling for this but everyone has their own methods). To get a nice shape that you want for the visor, make sure that you run a look around the helm where the visor is ment to go, that way you can extract the visor from the helm when you have the desired shape and know its going to fit.

Hope this helps a little,

Greg

Here is a link to a post I made with a helmet. I used a box and subdivided I think twice. From there it was push and pull.
