This small image is hard to judge. Post a bigger image or a link to a hires version.
But so far it looks detailed and well done. You could tweak the surface of the car. I'm not sure, but the red color appears too strong
you model is pretty nice!!
Only thing I can critic is the tire... F1 have slick tires.. no treads :shame:
But the rest of the model is really good

Actually it depends on what year he is going for because since about 2000 even slick tyres in F1 have treads, tho not as big as the ones you've made, even wet tyres wouldn't have tread like that. try to tone them down abit. also a bigger pic would be better as tommi said. its a little hard to crit when its that small. keep up the good work:thumbsup:

OK.... being a huge racing fan of all motorsports.. i can give you crits.
First.. easy on the meshsmooth, f1 cars are not that rounded, make more edges on the corners so it wont look that rounded, the wings are more squareish and have a lot more details to be added as in winglets, make the tires slighty less wider and a littel bit lower profile, and make simple grooves in them, its easy to do.
Good start though! keep at it.

Hi,
the image you uploaded is too small
But as a suggestion I would get some reference images for tires... those you used there doesnt look like F1 cars indeed, they are way too smooth and rounded.
Try getting some reference on google or even on company that produce such kind of tire, like firestone or Goodyear...
Send a bigger image when you have some changes on your project...

Hi
Thanks a lot guys for your replies and suggestions. i have made changes to the model like you guys had suggested.
i have made changes to the tyre and the front wing. i have tried to post a hi res pic but i can not post a file more than 20000 bytes so this is the best i could put up.
if you guys know of a way to put up a bigger file please let me know
thanks a lot.

I'm a F1 fan myself and I think you model it without any reference... Based on the livery that you've included, I assume that you're modeling either the F1 2001 or F1 2002... The overall shape of the car just doesnt feel right and he tire shouldnt be that wide though...
If you're interested, I can send your some blueprint of Ferrari F1... Just give me an email and I'll send it to u... Good luck

Treads: F1 cars do indeed have treads even on dry weather tires. I think there should be 4 on the front, and maybe 5 on the back.
Wheels: Can't tell for certain from the angle, but the wheels seem to be the completely wrong design for Ferrari's F1 cars.
Body: Too rounded and smooth. The rear of the body also seems to be the wrong shape in terms of how it curves in. The air inlet (above the driver) also seems to be a weird shape, it should be thinner, and where it blends into the rest of the body is off.
You should really look at a lot of reference matierial for this one.
On a side note, I'm doing my own F2002: http://ck.ethereal.net/f2002-8.jpg - you can see it there, and I'm just about to start a thread on it here on cgtalk

but the treads don't need to be that large, those look like 4wheeler tires.

Yeah, the first image's treads are too big, etc. But the second image has the straight treads, the dry weather type. They're still off, but much closer to reality than the first image's.
