U could try to use tutorial from here:
http://www.npowersoftware.com/nurbs/pntutorials_advanced.htm
It's about the same sofa. Npower nurbs shouldn't be very different than rhino nurbs.

I think you have set yourself up for a nice challenge here. I was thinking of how to approach this and drew a blank. When I get the opportunity (within the next day of two) I'm going to download that tutorial Cyan posted.
Hopefully that will give some insight :) I'm going to try model up this couch to so post all your updates in this thread.

If you downloaded the video tutorial, have you seen that bezier editable box object for the creation of cusion...WOW! (something like that in Rhino?)
Also the fileting part is VERY impressive!
Not the filleting it self but the way how it handels the geometry...using PowerSolids for Rhino would crash everytime...

i didnt come up with a good solution other than manually doing some texture
no good solution as texturing available other than modelling the bumps as surface
i just tried to finish the job so i only made a leather texture with bump

that is for 3ds max tutorial
and if you really watch it it only covers flat parts of couch it doesnt pattern the corners etc.
yet the project is over i have done what i have done
flat surfaces is rather easy yet no good technique come up when doing corners
at least i couldnt find a proper solution
and cayn that link is for 3ds max so it only confuses the people
so the topic can be closed if noother good post will be made
