[3dsmax9]
Go to your reference at
Surface Modeling >> NURBS >> Creating and Editing NURBS Sub-Objects >> Creating Surface Sub-Objects >> Mirror Surface
There you find a picture which has been there since Max 4.0. The head which is obviously formed by NURBS and completed by a mirror surface (see attachment).
I know 3dsmax very long now and read the reference almost every time a new version came out so I know the actual technics which are told to be used to create NURBS.
But I can just get no way to createa proper NURBS-model as the head is one. This head looks like made out of a 'grid' of splines which finally define the overlaying - and thus dependent - surface. Or am I mistaken?
There is a dozen kinds of dependent surfaces available by default but all of them seem more 'linear' and 'straight from point to point' not really usefull to create a model.
I tried that 'head-thing' myself creating a grid of NURBS-Splines welding (FUSE) the points of the different Point-Curves together but that actually does nothing - not mentioning I cannot create a overlaying dependent surface.
So finally my question is:
How can I make a head like the one I was refering to with splines and dependent surfaces?
i.e.: How can I create a surface based on a 'net' of splines?
(i.e.: How can I create a CV/Point-NURBS-Surface from scratch i.e. from different splines?)
Hope you can manage to drop me an answer - excuse my english as usual - Regards, ManDay
