hey all

is there a way - in cinema 10 - to keep hair objects from poking through cloth objects? seems the two don't detect each other during animation

they do......ish.

Cloth sadly cannot react to hair as it only works with true polygons, it cannot even work with generated polygons so setting hair to geometry won't work :/

Hair however can react with most geometry, and cloth objects must be polygon objects anyways so hair can react with cloth just fine. The problem you may be encountering thoguh is that both Hair and Cloth seems to have a preference for front normals not back normals, I assume this is some sort of speed optimization thing, but it does mean that if its sair hair inside a hood, you'll want the inside of the hood to have front facing normals to better collide with the hair. Increasing the number of segments and iterations int he hair dynamics will help it be more accurate, and keep in mind that hair is interpolated between guides, so while the guides may not poke through the hair might so if all else fails, use more guides or set dynamics to hairs instead of guides.

hope that helps
