Hi all.

I'm doing this hack in da box thing. I need some conceptual help..

he is supposed 2 b creepy. the inside of the box is very hot . (hell hot) the spring is like the wire inside the lamp.

the hat is like three hoses that blow steam.. (dont ask why)

anyway Im a bit stuck modeling wise.

any advise is greatly appritiated.

attached is the model so far, plus some 2D sketches.

Hard to tell at that size, but your modelling looks ok though no where near as dynamic as you sketches or your ideas. What do you feel stuck on? I really love the character sketch on the right. :)

Hey, don't fret, lookin' very good:)

I think it's his high nose that takes away from the freakiness, I like the sketch on the upper right too, maybe scale down the eyes, even better, one smaller than the other.

This model really brings back flash backs of the "Learning Maya" tutorial book....looks great though, maybe use a lava shader on the inside of the box, place a point light or some other with tinge of red and apply a heat wave particle theory on the open part of the box and it will achieve the "HELL" look.

I would not mind seeing how you plan on rigging it, if you would post some shots when that is done, or test video?
