I've been max user for ages, but I'm falling into blender lately, could you post some link of resources for blender. I've been watching blender3d.org... but... there is not too much apart from the installer.
Thanks!

I'm going to quote something I wrote some time ago, it's the basic selection for moving scaling editing etc. May seem overwhelming at first, but trust me it will fit you like a glove once you know the drill:
yes there are many ways to move stuff around.
Ctrl-space is the hotkey for enabling/disabling or choosing a gizmo/widget/manipulator/whatever you wish to call it.,
just as ctrl- alt R/S/G are for the Rotate/Scale/Grab manipulators
if a select something with rmb and hold down rmb you can drag/scale/rotate instantly, if you click an instant, you can select more when you keep shift pressed.
when you want to lasso select, you use ctrl lmb and drag an area you want selected.
when you want to lasso deselect, press ctrl-shift-lmb.
you can then move by pressing lmb and releasing it afterwards. the releasing is because of the gesture system. if you draw a circle before releasing you will rotate, if you draw a V you will scale and if you draw a line you will grab.
you can select all or deselect all by pressing the A button.
The B button will give you a box selection.
so shortcuts:
Ctrl-space enable/disable manipulator
Ctrl-alt-G/R/S grab/rotate/scale manipulator
Ctrl-LMBdrag lasso select
Ctrl-shift-LMBdrag lasso deselect
A select/deselect all
B box select
rmb quickselect single selection
hold rmb quickdrag/rotate/scale single selection
lmb place 3D cursor
hold(draw/gesture) lmb manipulate
shift rmb add to/remove from selection
I'm sure I'm missing some, and don't worry, they WILL become second nature.
It all takes a bit of getting used to, bit it will grow on you, trust me.
forgot these:
Ctrl-Tab for switching between subobject mode (face/edge/vertex) or object mode weight paint.
Alt-space lets you choose the orientation of the transforms you do. (global, local, normal)
To focus the view on a certain selection: press the ".DEL" key on the numpad.
To quickly change the rotation/scaling pivots:
. for 3D cursor pivot
, for bounding box cursor
ctrl . for individual centers
ctrl , for median point

there are some usefull links there which I will repeat for those who don't feel like clicking onto another thread:
http://mediawiki.blender.org/index.php/QuickStart
http://mediawiki.blender.org/index.php/Manual
here are two images for the current hotkeys for both object and edit mode:
http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=383467&highlight=blender+hotkey
EDIT:
Forgot about the loop select options:
alt-rmb = loop select
shift-alt-rmb = add/remove loop to selection.
Edit again:
and forgot that if you press B twice you get a "paint selection mode" instead of box which ends if you press rmb. Also if you press O you enable/disable fallof/soft selection. while "paint selecting" or transforming with fallof/soft selection, you can use the mousewheel to adjust the influence area.
Edit again:
last edit, all these nice options are also available in the menus/menubars if you're looking for them. press space in 3Dview to get a menu that may remind you of 3Dmax's quads. or the list max had before it had quats.
