Title: Hyperion - the Shrike
Name: Jean-Sebastien Rossbach
Country: France
Software: Painter, Photoshop
I've had the great chance to be commissioned by a french editor to paint the covers of the Hyperion series by Dan Simmons.
The first one was a great opportunity to give my own take of the infamous Shrike, the most brilliant super nasty bastard in the entire the universe !

Your Shrike is insanely the best one I ever seen !
This illustration hugely makes me want to read Hyperion one more time.
The AD who came to ask you for illustrating this absolutely fabled cycle had an excellent insight! :buttrock: :)
It's a real tribute to Dan Simmons, I'm proud of you sweety
and so curious to see the next ones...

Well done, in fact I already saw it printed in my bookstore, ah !
Excellent design, colors and texturing. I especially love the dynamic strokes on the sphere transparency surrounding the baby.
Allez, continue, ca le fait.
