Hi all

This is my first post within this forum; I'm just in the process of amending/painting a background plate for my composite. The picture is of a plane which has crashed into a house, which will be used within a training scenario for the fire service. I still have loads to do, I'll also be creating smoke particles, debris etc. Please feel free to comment, as I'm new to creating this sort of work.

Hi welcome, I added your image so everyone can see it easier, so you get faster feedback

about your image, I see a little confusing how the plane crashed or even where it is, think about the trail it did before chrashing , the plane parts all over the place, how big the plane is?? if it is big the destruction around should be bigger, I would like to see it finished with all the missing elements so I can give a better feedback

Thanks a lot jamesvfx,

I still have loads to do, I need to show a lot more of the plane debris around the house on fire, plus the surrounding area. The plane itself is a harrier fighter jet, thanks for up loading my image, and how were you able to do that?

Thanks again

I agree, it's hard to tell just what is happening.

Also, I feel your blacks are too dark.

Good first steps though.

Thanks again james

Gary, yep I suppose those shades are to dark,

This is just a test piece I did at home playing around with different ideas, as all my files are at work. The grass is a bit poor as I was just trying different things and the blacks are to dark again, buts it's still a wip.

I will try and up load more images tomorrow. I've got to get some better images of a harrier, I would like to show the cockpit hanging over the hole in the building, this would give you a better idea of its trajectory.

Hey dell,

I think that the main problem at the moment is saturation/brightness. As most of the base Image is pretty bright and low saturated, the added elements pop out too much.
Some painted lighting on the planes wing and houses wall should also help to integrate the elements. But I think, it is still not clear whats going on ... you may need more focus on the crashed plane by deleting other elements or popping out the plane by color that attracts the viewers eye.

Here's an update,

Thanks for the tips Inlakechh,

I still need to do some final adjustments, CC, levels etc. The only problem I have come across is that close up the detail is fine, but as I reduced the size of the image the detail becomes difficult to distinguish?
