Title: A place of shelter
Name: Matthias Zabiegly
Country: Germany
Software: CINEMA 4D, Digital Fusion, Photoshop
A peacefull place - to provide shelter in a deadly environment a long forgotten tribe builds its houses on poles in the middle of a river. Far out of reach of dangerous and hungry animals and rivaling (and hungry) neighbour tribes.
There is a 6sec animation of this where the water, boats, fishingnet and smoke is moving along with a slight camera pan. Maybe I'll put it online later if you want me to and when I get back to my broadband.

Hello, I dont want to create waves here but I think this has alot of good going for it ( and I really mean that) but for some reason I think that it lack a certian realism that would help me to get lost in the world portrayed here. I am thinking that there isnt much envoriment (meaning actual air and what have you)
The good that I like about this is the models and setting of the scene are well done. I really cant pin however what makes it stay in the 2d realm for me, instead of the 3d Wow realm that it could be.
this is just my humble thoughts :)

Very nice image, I love the idea and the environment a lot. That lack of realism that Topher says can be for the difference between the pics of the trees and the 3D (only a little). Maybe I would add some more dirt specially in the roofs to the houses. Maybe also changing a little bit more the color of the houses can help.
Anyway, for me is a great image. Congratulations.
