Honestly I like it! The model is well done, :applause:

:shame: But the shader I think needs a bit of work, because it looks a bit too shiny for a glossy paint.

keep up the good work!

i would have to agree with Usul the shader u used or w/e seems to make the car over shiny  it almost makes it look like there are problems with ur Aliasing but not

edit: ummm where are the GTR badges :p :bounce:

Hi !

Model looks very good and accurate

But you need tweaking on car paint and rendering :). Also wierd is that textures (letters) are somehow streched in some areas (for instance NISSAN text is definately streched).

Update us when you make new progress.

cheers

well not to be a b1tch or anything :/ but the model doenst even look like a skyline, unless your trying to make it look alittle cartoony. the onlything remotly reminding me of a skyline are the headlights, althought the model is a good start

nice model ! did you model the Lewis way ? or point by point and patch ???

Yeah. The deal is that cars do not reflect like mirrors. If you go out and look at your freshly waxed car, the reflection of a straight line is very distorted even in the car's flat surfaces. The curves and manufacturing are just not high-tolerance enough to give such PERFECT reflections.

yeah im with digitalpimp on this, it doesn't look like the skyline's i have seen. i can't really see the car actually. it's interesting to see how people see the same things differently.

i like the model, and as for it not looking a real skyline, its probably a knock off of a grand touring version, you know, gt3 and all that.....? 500 hp baby! you guys should check out the races in japan......man they're nuts the cars are sooooooo nice!
too bad i gotta truck....

Hello!

Well Lewis perhaps you can remember, for about 6 months ago, i wrote you a e-mail, and asked you how i could modell a car! U gave me that link ´from your tutorial. And it was great. I tryed
a few cars but this one was my best. I know there are a lot of details to add. I just wanted to hear the opinion from the pro guys!! So thank you lewis for the great tutorial and the other guys 4 theyr comments!!

I will try to keep it up!

I think this is a GT 1 Race Car and the Nissan GTR street version looks different?

it´s nice but u´d to apply an antialiasing to the render or textures,.....the limit of the objects is very dirty......

Needs a lot of work before you should call it finished IMO.

The lighting and texturing could use a lot of work.
Don't most of the Calsonic cars use a blue paint scheme?
Also, I don't believe any of the Japanese GT / Touring cars are that shiny/reflective, they're usually a bit more muted.

That aliasing needs fixing too.

Yes, the GT Racing (read: GT/Touring classes) does look different from the street car, but your car still seems off in a number of areas. Look at some more reference photos of the Calsonic. (Or any of the Nismo racers)

thank you guys 4 your comments, this is the first time i used uv mapping, i tryed again but the letters are still wierd. (knows somebody a good tutorial 4 this?)

the aliasing problem, i guess i could fix it when i use extreme anti aliasing, i just had low by this render, what do you mean? (flewp)

but the model itself needs no more work, i mean i have to do the seats and all that stuff inside, but outside it is ok?

i will work on that uv things and on texturing and lightning! And post later (in a few years:eek: ) some render

so thank you all again!!!!

Hy everybody,

i had a few days work off, so i started to do what you guys told me to do better,

well i guess the car is still to shiny 4 a race car, but i have the reflection just by 0 %, and i just have an incidance angel as gradiant in the reflection "T".

What do you think about the UV-maps?

So i´m looking forward to see your comments!!!

thanks

I dunno, the cars just seem fake. It almost looks as if they're based on small toy cars or something. I can't put my finger on it, but just about everything seems kind of off about the cars. Sorry for such a horrible critique, but I'll try and explain better.

#1: Sharp edges. They need to be smoother, especially around the front quarter panel area.

#2: Texturing: Well, the decals seem okay, but they could be better. Also could use some more decals. The actual surface of the cars are off, you really need to work on it overall, look at reference pictures.

#3: Misc: I could be wrong, but I believe the Calsonic has different wheels than the ones depicted in your version.

thank you all again!!!
