Volition Inc. is currently seeking talented and experienced Level Designers to create levels on a new fps that is about to enter the production phase. Applicants should be skilled in all aspects of level construction for a state of the art, console real-time engine. Applicants must have the ability to take a drawing or written concept, translate it to 3D, and apply the appropriate textures while collaborating with other team members such as the Art Lead and Game Designers.

Responsibilities:

- Create immersive, innovative, and gameplay-driven environments using a proprietary tools and in-house assets.
- Bring life to levels through lighting, effects, dynamic events, and scripting.

Qualifications:

- Art related college degree.
- At least two years of applicable industry experience
- Creativity and excellent problem-solving skills in level design
- Fluent knowledge of at least one major 3D package (3DS MAX, Maya, Softimage)
- Fluent knowledge of at least one major game editor (Red, UnrealEd, Radiant, etc.)
- Fluent knowledge of Photoshop, or similar 2D program
- Strong art portfolio and/or architectural design skills a plus.

Sample Work Required:

- Samples of 3D environmental work, (online, CD, or VHS format)
- Samples of texture work, raw textures and examples of texture application (flat photocopy or electronic format)
- Samples of traditional skills, sketchbook, drawings, paintings, etc.

All samples must be accompanied by a description of each, with specific information on what you were responsible for, what tools were used, etc

Relocation to Champaign, Illinois is required.

hi. i was just wondering why lightwave 3d isnt in the 3d apps? hasn't it been used a lot in the making of games with the new unreal engine??

btw im not applicating (maybe in 2 years...,;) ) just curious
