Using max 5.1 (and ever since the update its started to act up)
Suddenly from a clear blue sky, my beloved max starts to crash everytime i open up a file and open the material editor or hit render.

Ive created a crashfile now. A ball. no lights no materials. Still crashes. Its not direct-x vs maxtreme or something like that cause ive tried them all. no difference.
Thought it was Brazil, but its not. happens with scanline too.

Ive removed every plug or material ive downloaded or installed from a month ago. no difference.

Strange thing is i can merge everything from the same file (without actually opening it) and it will render and i can open the material editor. !?!?!

Ive reinstalled. no difference. What the X-X-X-X can i do?

I cant work like this. Please, someone help.

Might be the known issue with older... dubious... versions of Brazil r/s.

Get the 1.0.14 update from your Account page, and you should be all set :)

One way to find out if that's it is to simply remove the Brazil r/s plugins before starting max. If all is fine, then you know what's up.

Best regards,
Richard Annema

Nah its not Brazil. It happens anyway (with brazil removed)

Im at my second reinstall right now, and im doing the much fulfilling job of draggin one plug at a time, restarting max everytime. Loading my crashfile, testing.

Its gonna be a looooong day.

Did you check your Graphics card driver? Maybe it got corrupt or something. Try updating it, even if it says you allready have a suitable driver countinue with the installation to replace the driver.
