Hi..
I am trying to render a shadow pass using the use-background shader..
Everytime when shadow are casted on rounded surface I get a "cut-off" shadow on the surface.. can someone enlighten me?

need help urgent.. T_T

There are other ways of rendering a shadow pass that don't suffer from that problem. Here's how I'd do it:

(Of course, you would need to do compositing to see the results this way.)

By choosing the method that Jeremy was kind enough to demonstrate will afford you a huge amount of control in Shake. One thing I like to do quite often is to mask a Ramp, or better yet a Ramp2D, and place it "Inside" the shadow render. This gives you a really nice alternative to controlling the falloff as the distance from the casting object increases.
