View Full Version : Small model, Huge filesize?
rendorx 01-02-2007, 07:47 AM Hi there,
I have a problem with a small model that consists of 157 polygons, 4 clusters and 4 small textures. Astonishingly, this model takes up nearly 4 mb of disk space.
I don't know what causes this, does anyone have any pointers on what might help?
thanks and a happy new year of course!

Did you forget to freeze your modeling?? all those modeling modifiers in the stack can make an object heavier than it should be....

Did all that already, so that shouldn't be the problem.
Thanks for your reply though!

Misterdi posted a solution here or xsibase to a recent problem that sounded pretty similar - it went along the lines of it was a bug with the way the uvs are stored and you could sort out the problem by creating a new projection and transferring the uvs across, and deleting the old one. I think. Might be best to do a search :)
Definitely check the UVs. I had a file once that was 9mb larger because of a corrupt UV on a sphere.

Thanks Guys!
That really seemed to be the problem, it went from 3mb to 46 kb
thanks again
