Hi,
I need some help with maya rendering shadow passes.. I am not sure if this problem's been asked.. if yes.. can someone post the link here?

I am trying render a shadow pass with use-background shader..
it rendered out but with some problem..
the shadow seems to be "cut" of when it reaches the middle of rounded surfaces.. eg. sphere, cylinder, torus..

I hope i stated my problem clearly.. can anyone help?

Do you get the same result if you render the shadow-pass for each light seperately?

I agree that the shadows look a bit odd in the images you posted, but I think that it is the self-shadowing of the cylinder that is missing, and this makes it appear like the shadow of the torus being cast onto the cylinder appears "cut" (but is actually correct here). Maybe the light on the right is creating this unusual appearance.
